We said we'd travel -just the two of us- when our kids were grown, so we got new bikes and spent January 2006 travelling in Cuba. We find that cycling through a country allows us to move at the speed we choose and to meet local people, and we love experiencing the places in between tourist centres that are not often visited.

Travels provides the specifics of our trips, and Nuts & Bolts contains planning information we've found useful. In 2009 we travelled from Bangkok to Paris, taking 11 months to ride 17,000 km across 22 countries - and documenting our adventures in a blog.
